Instructions for Use:

  1. Input Voltage (VIN):

    • Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.5V to 36V.
    • The input voltage should be at least 0.5V to 2.0V higher than the desired output voltage to ensure proper operation.
  2. Output Voltage (VOUT):

    • The output voltage can be adjusted from 1.2V to 35V using external resistors.
    • Use the formula: ( V_ = 1.2 left(1 + fracright) ) where ( R_1 ) and ( R_2 ) are the feedback resistors.
  3. Line Regulation:

    • The line regulation is very low, typically between 0.001% and 0.01% per volt change in input voltage.
    • This ensures stable output even with variations in input voltage.
  4. Load Regulation:

    • The load regulation is also very low, typically between 0.001% and 0.01% per milliamp change in load current.
    • This ensures stable output even with changes in load current.
  5. Dropout Voltage:

    • The dropout voltage is the difference between the input and output voltages at which the regulator can no longer maintain regulation.
    • It ranges from 0.5V to 2.0V, depending on the load current.
  6. Quiescent Current (IQ):

    • The quiescent current is the current consumed by the regulator when no load is present.
    • It typically ranges from 1.5mA to 2.5mA.
  7. Output Current (IOUT):

    • The maximum output current is 1.5A, with typical values around 1.1A.
    • Ensure that the load does not exceed this limit to avoid damage to the regulator.
  8. Operating Temperature (TOPR):

    • The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C.
    • Ensure the device operates within this range to prevent thermal stress.
  9. Storage Temperature (TSTG):

    • The storage temperature range is from -65°C to 150°C.
    • Store the device in a dry, cool place to prevent damage.
  10. Thermal Resistance (θJA):

    • The thermal resistance from junction to ambient is typically 75°C/W.
    • Ensure adequate heat dissipation to keep the junction temperature within safe limits.

Additional Notes:

  • Always use appropriate capacitors on the input and output to filter noise and stabilize the regulator.
  • For high current applications, consider adding a heatsink to improve thermal performance.
  • Refer to the datasheet for detailed application circuits and further information.
