Instructions for Use

1. Power Supply:

   • Ensure that the VCC supply is 3.3V ± 5%.
   • The I/O voltage (VIO) can be either 3.3V or 5V depending on your system requirements.

2. Installation:

   • Insert the AM7996PC into a compatible PCI slot on your motherboard.
   • Connect the Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 port.

3. Configuration:

   • The device will automatically configure itself upon power-up.
   • Use the provided software utility to set up network parameters such as IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.

4. Wake-on-LAN:

   • Enable Wake-on-LAN in the BIOS settings.
   • Configure the system to wake up from a specific network packet.

5. Firmware Update:

   • Check for firmware updates from the manufacturer’s website.
   • Follow the instructions to update the firmware if necessary.

6. Troubleshooting:

   • If the link light does not turn on, ensure that the Ethernet cable is properly connected.
   • Check the network settings and ensure they are correct.
   • Use the diagnostic tools provided with the software to identify and resolve issues.

7. Handling:

   • Handle the AM7996PC with care to avoid static damage.
   • Do not touch the pins or the bottom of the chip directly.

8. Storage:

   • Store the AM7996PC in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
