Instructions for Use:
Power Supply:
- Ensure the supply voltage (VCC) is within the specified range (4.5V to 5.5V).
- Connect the input voltage to the VCC pin and ground to the GND pin.
Output Configuration:
- The output voltage (VOUT) can be set using external resistors. Connect the resistors between the VOUT pin and the ADJ pin.
- The formula to calculate the output voltage is: VOUT = 1.25 * (1 + R2/R1), where R1 is the resistor connected between VOUT and ADJ, and R2 is the resistor connected between ADJ and GND.
Thermal Management:
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation to prevent the device from exceeding the thermal shutdown temperature (160°C). Use a heatsink if necessary.
Overcurrent Protection:
- The device has built-in overcurrent protection that limits the output current to approximately 350mA to 400mA. If the current exceeds this limit, the device will enter a protective state.
Shutdown Mode:
- To place the device in shutdown mode, connect the SHDN pin to GND. In this mode, the quiescent current drops to about 0.1μA to 0.5μA.
- To activate the device, connect the SHDN pin to VCC or leave it floating.
Operating Temperature:
- The device operates reliably within the temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. Ensure the operating environment does not exceed these limits.
Storage Temperature:
- Store the device in an environment with a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C to ensure long-term reliability.
Layout Considerations:
- Place bypass capacitors close to the VCC and GND pins to minimize noise and improve stability.
- Use short, wide traces for power and ground connections to reduce inductance and resistance.
By following these instructions, you can ensure optimal performance and reliability of the DS9034PC.
