Instructions for Use:

  1. Supply Voltage (VDD):

    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
    • Avoid exceeding the maximum voltage to prevent damage to the device.
  2. Operating and Storage Temperature:

    • The device operates reliably between -40°C and 85°C.
    • For storage, keep the device between -65°C and 150°C.
  3. Input Voltage Range (VIN):

    • The input voltage should be within 0V to 5.5V.
    • Do not apply voltages outside this range to avoid damage.
  4. Output Current (IOUT):

    • The device can provide a continuous output current of up to 2A.
    • For optimal performance, keep the load within the specified range.
  5. Quiescent Current (IQ):

    • The quiescent current is typically 20μA when the input voltage is 5V and the output voltage is 3.3V.
    • This low quiescent current ensures efficient power consumption.
  6. Dropout Voltage (VDROPOUT):

    • The dropout voltage is typically 0.2V at an output current of 1A.
    • This low dropout voltage allows the device to operate efficiently even at low input-to-output voltage differences.
  7. Load and Line Regulation:

    • The load regulation is 0.1% over the output current range from 0mA to 2A.
    • The line regulation is 0.05% over the input voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V.
    • These parameters ensure stable output voltage under varying load and input conditions.
  8. Ripple Rejection:

    • The device provides 70dB ripple rejection at 1kHz.
    • This helps in maintaining a clean output voltage in noisy environments.
  9. Thermal Shutdown (TSD):

    • The device will shut down if the junction temperature exceeds 160°C.
    • This feature protects the device from overheating and potential damage.
  10. Short-Circuit Protection (SCP):

    • The device includes short-circuit protection that is self-recovering.
    • In the event of a short circuit, the device will automatically limit the output current and recover once the short is removed.

Additional Notes:

  • Always ensure proper heat sinking if the device is operating at high output currents or in high ambient temperatures.
  • Use appropriate decoupling capacitors on both the input and output sides to ensure stability and reduce noise.
  • Follow the recommended PCB layout guidelines to optimize performance and reliability.
