Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
- The input voltage must be at least 200mV higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- Set the output voltage using external resistors according to the formula provided in the datasheet.
- Typical output voltages include 1.0V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V, 3.0V, and 3.3V.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The device can provide up to 300mA of continuous output current.
- For reliable operation, ensure the load does not exceed 300mA.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is typically 30μA, which is important for low-power applications.
Dropout Voltage (VDROPOUT):
- The dropout voltage is typically 200mV, meaning the input voltage must be at least 200mV higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
Load Regulation:
- The load regulation is typically 0.5%, indicating that the output voltage will change by 0.5% for a full load change.
Line Regulation:
- The line regulation is typically 0.1%, indicating that the output voltage will change by 0.1% for a 10% change in input voltage.
Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR):
- The PSRR is typically 60dB, which means the device effectively reduces ripple and noise from the input supply.
Operating Temperature (TOP):
- The device operates reliably over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
Storage Temperature (TSTG):
- The device can be stored in temperatures ranging from -55°C to 150°C without damage.
Capacitors:
- Use appropriate input and output capacitors to stabilize the regulator and filter out noise.
- Recommended values are typically 1μF for both input and output capacitors.
PCB Layout:
- Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the regulator to minimize parasitic inductance and improve stability.
- Ensure proper heat dissipation if operating at high currents or in high ambient temperatures.
Handling:
- Handle the device with care to avoid static damage.
- Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions during handling and installation.
