Instructions for Use:

  1. Input Voltage (VIN):

    • Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
    • The input voltage must be at least 200mV higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
  2. Output Voltage (VOUT):

    • Set the output voltage using external resistors according to the formula provided in the datasheet.
    • Typical output voltages include 1.0V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V, 3.0V, and 3.3V.
  3. Output Current (IOUT):

    • The device can provide up to 300mA of continuous output current.
    • For reliable operation, ensure the load does not exceed 300mA.
  4. Quiescent Current (IQ):

    • The quiescent current is typically 30μA, which is important for low-power applications.
  5. Dropout Voltage (VDROPOUT):

    • The dropout voltage is typically 200mV, meaning the input voltage must be at least 200mV higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
  6. Load Regulation:

    • The load regulation is typically 0.5%, indicating that the output voltage will change by 0.5% for a full load change.
  7. Line Regulation:

    • The line regulation is typically 0.1%, indicating that the output voltage will change by 0.1% for a 10% change in input voltage.
  8. Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR):

    • The PSRR is typically 60dB, which means the device effectively reduces ripple and noise from the input supply.
  9. Operating Temperature (TOP):

    • The device operates reliably over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
  10. Storage Temperature (TSTG):

    • The device can be stored in temperatures ranging from -55°C to 150°C without damage.
  11. Capacitors:

    • Use appropriate input and output capacitors to stabilize the regulator and filter out noise.
    • Recommended values are typically 1μF for both input and output capacitors.
  12. PCB Layout:

    • Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the regulator to minimize parasitic inductance and improve stability.
    • Ensure proper heat dissipation if operating at high currents or in high ambient temperatures.
  13. Handling:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static damage.
    • Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions during handling and installation.
