Instructions for Use:

  1. Input Voltage (VIN):

    • Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
    • Avoid exceeding the maximum input voltage to prevent damage to the device.
  2. Output Voltage (VOUT):

    • The output voltage is fixed at 2.5V. No external resistors are required for setting the output voltage.
  3. Output Current (IOUT):

    • The device can provide up to 150mA of continuous output current.
    • For optimal performance, keep the output current below 100mA.
  4. Quiescent Current (IQ):

    • The quiescent current is typically 1.8mA when the input voltage is 5V and the output voltage is 2.5V.
  5. Dropout Voltage (VDROPOUT):

    • The dropout voltage is typically 0.3V at a load current of 150mA.
    • Ensure the input voltage is at least 0.3V higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
  6. Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR):

    • The PSRR is 60dB at a frequency of 100kHz, indicating good rejection of input voltage variations.
  7. Operating Junction Temperature (TJ):

    • The device can operate continuously at junction temperatures from -40°C to 125°C.
    • Ensure proper heat dissipation to avoid overheating.
  8. Storage Temperature (TSTG):

    • Store the device in a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C when not in use.
  9. Layout Considerations:

    • Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the device to minimize noise and improve stability.
    • Use low ESR capacitors for better performance.
  10. Capacitor Selection:

    • Input Capacitor (CIN): Use a 1μF ceramic capacitor.
    • Output Capacitor (COUT): Use a 1μF to 10μF ceramic capacitor.
  11. Thermal Management:

    • If operating at high output currents or in high ambient temperatures, consider using a heatsink or thermal pad to improve thermal performance.
  12. Handling Precautions:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the internal components.
    • Follow standard ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures.
