Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
- Avoid exceeding the maximum input voltage to prevent damage to the device.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- The output voltage is fixed at 2.5V. No external resistors are required for setting the output voltage.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The device can provide up to 150mA of continuous output current.
- For optimal performance, keep the output current below 100mA.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is typically 1.8mA when the input voltage is 5V and the output voltage is 2.5V.
Dropout Voltage (VDROPOUT):
- The dropout voltage is typically 0.3V at a load current of 150mA.
- Ensure the input voltage is at least 0.3V higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR):
- The PSRR is 60dB at a frequency of 100kHz, indicating good rejection of input voltage variations.
Operating Junction Temperature (TJ):
- The device can operate continuously at junction temperatures from -40°C to 125°C.
- Ensure proper heat dissipation to avoid overheating.
Storage Temperature (TSTG):
- Store the device in a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C when not in use.
Layout Considerations:
- Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the device to minimize noise and improve stability.
- Use low ESR capacitors for better performance.
Capacitor Selection:
- Input Capacitor (CIN): Use a 1μF ceramic capacitor.
- Output Capacitor (COUT): Use a 1μF to 10μF ceramic capacitor.
Thermal Management:
- If operating at high output currents or in high ambient temperatures, consider using a heatsink or thermal pad to improve thermal performance.
Handling Precautions:
- Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the internal components.
- Follow standard ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures.
