Instructions for Use:
Power Supply Connection:
- Connect the input voltage (VIN) to the power supply within the range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
- Ensure the input capacitor (CIN) is placed close to the VIN pin to minimize noise and improve stability.
Output Configuration:
- The MAX1644EAE provides a fixed output voltage of 3.3V. No external resistors are required for setting the output voltage.
- Place the output capacitor (COUT) close to the VOUT pin to ensure stable operation and filter out any ripple.
Shutdown Function:
- To enable the shutdown mode, connect the SHDN pin to ground (0V). This will reduce the current consumption to approximately 1μA.
- To activate the regulator, leave the SHDN pin open or connect it to VIN.
Thermal Considerations:
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation if operating at high output currents or in high ambient temperatures.
- The device is designed to operate within the temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Capacitor Selection:
- Use ceramic capacitors with X5R or X7R dielectric for CIN and COUT.
- Typical values for CIN and COUT are 1μF and 10μF, respectively.
PCB Layout:
- Keep the PCB traces short and wide to minimize inductance and resistance.
- Place bypass capacitors as close as possible to the respective pins to reduce parasitic inductance.
Transient Response:
- The device has a typical transient recovery time of 100μs for load steps from 100mA to 150mA. Ensure that the system can handle this transient behavior.
Regulation:
- The load regulation is ±1% over the load range from 0mA to 150mA.
- The line regulation is ±1% over the input voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V.
Storage:
- Store the device in a dry, cool environment to prevent damage. The storage temperature range is -65°C to +150°C.
By following these instructions, you can ensure optimal performance and reliability of the MAX1644EAE in your application.
