Instructions for Use:
Power Supply:
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 6V to 40V.
- The start-up current should not exceed 1.5mA at 12V.
Quiescent Current:
- The quiescent current is typically 10mA at 12V.
Output Current:
- The maximum continuous output current is 1.5A.
Power Dissipation:
- The device can dissipate up to 15W of power at an ambient temperature of 25°C.
Temperature Considerations:
- The junction temperature should be kept between -40°C and 150°C.
- The storage temperature range is also -40°C to 150°C.
Thermal Management:
- The thermal resistance from the junction to the ambient is 60°C/W. Proper heat sinking may be required for high power applications.
Protection Features:
- The MC33035 includes overvoltage, overcurrent, and thermal shutdown protection.
Layout Recommendations:
- Use short leads and wide traces to minimize inductance and resistance.
- Place the input and output capacitors close to the device to reduce noise and improve stability.
Capacitor Selection:
- Use a 1μF ceramic capacitor on the input and a 10μF electrolytic capacitor on the output for stability.
Application Notes:
- Refer to the datasheet for detailed application circuits and examples.
- For optimal performance, follow the recommended PCB layout guidelines provided in the datasheet.
