Instructions for Use

  1. Handling Precautions:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid mechanical damage.
    • Avoid touching the leads or body of the device with bare hands to prevent static discharge.
  2. Mounting:

    • Ensure proper heat sinking to maintain the junction temperature within the specified range.
    • Apply thermal compound between the device and the heat sink for better thermal conductivity.
    • Tighten the mounting screw to the recommended torque (10 to 15 Nm).
  3. Electrical Connections:

    • Connect the Anode (A) to the positive side of the circuit.
    • Connect the Cathode (K) to the negative side of the circuit.
    • Apply the gate trigger signal to the Gate (G) terminal.
  4. Triggering:

    • The SCR can be triggered by applying a positive gate current (I GT ) of at least 50 mA.
    • The gate voltage (V GT ) should not exceed 1.5 V.
  5. Dissipation Management:

    • Monitor the power dissipation (P D ) to ensure it does not exceed 115 W at a case temperature of 25°C.
    • Use appropriate cooling methods (e.g., forced air, heatsinks) to manage heat dissipation.
  6. Temperature Considerations:

    • Operate the device within the specified operating junction temperature range (-55°C to +150°C).
    • Store the device within the storage temperature range (-65°C to +150°C).
  7. Testing:

    • Test the device in a controlled environment to ensure it meets the specified parameters.
    • Use a multimeter to check continuity and resistance between terminals as needed.
  8. Safety:

    • Follow all safety guidelines when handling high-voltage circuits.
    • Ensure proper insulation and grounding to prevent electrical hazards.
