Instructions for Use
Supply Voltage (Vcc):
- Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 5.5V to avoid damage or improper operation.
Output Current (Iout):
- The continuous output current should not exceed 300mA. For peak currents, up to 600mA can be handled in short pulses.
Quiescent Current (Iq):
- The quiescent current is very low, typically around 5μA, making the LB1979 suitable for low-power applications.
Dropout Voltage (Vdo):
- The dropout voltage is the difference between the input and output voltages at which the regulator can no longer maintain regulation. It is typically 0.5V at 100mA.
Thermal Shutdown (Tshut):
- The device will automatically shut down if the temperature exceeds 150°C to prevent damage. Allow the device to cool before resuming operation.
Operating Temperature (Topr):
- The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C. Ensure that the device is used within this range to maintain reliability and performance.
Additional Notes
- Capacitors:
- Use appropriate input and output capacitors to stabilize the supply and ensure proper regulation.
- PCB Layout:
- Ensure good thermal management by providing adequate copper area for heat dissipation.
- Polarity:
- Observe correct polarity when connecting the device to avoid damage.
