Instructions for Use

  1. Pin Configuration:

    • Pin 1 (MR): Master Reset (Active Low)
    • Pin 2 (Q0): Output Bit 0
    • Pin 3 (Q1): Output Bit 1
    • Pin 4 (Q2): Output Bit 2
    • Pin 5 (Q3): Output Bit 3
    • Pin 6 (U/D): Up/Down Control (High for Up, Low for Down)
    • Pin 7 (GND): Ground
    • Pin 8 (CP0): Clock Input 0
    • Pin 9 (CP1): Clock Input 1
    • Pin 10 (P0): Preset Input Bit 0
    • Pin 11 (P1): Preset Input Bit 1
    • Pin 12 (P2): Preset Input Bit 2
    • Pin 13 (P3): Preset Input Bit 3
    • Pin 14 (LD): Load (Preset) Control (Active Low)
    • Pin 15 (Vcc): Power Supply
    • Pin 16 (NC): No Connect
  2. Operation:

    • Reset: Set MR to Low to reset the counter to 0.
    • Preset: Set LD to Low and apply the desired preset values to P0-P3. The counter will load these values on the next clock edge.
    • Counting: Apply clock signals to CP0 and/or CP1. The counter will count up or down based on the state of the U/D pin.
    • Up/Down Control: Set U/D to High for counting up, and Low for counting down.
  3. Power Supply:

    • Connect Vcc to +5V and GND to ground.
  4. Clock Inputs:

    • CP0 and CP1 can be used independently or together to control the counting operation. Ensure that the clock signals are clean and stable.
  5. Output States:

    • Q0-Q3 will reflect the current count value. These outputs can drive other logic circuits directly.
  6. Temperature Considerations:

    • Ensure the device operates within the specified temperature range to avoid damage or incorrect operation.
  7. Handling:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the internal circuitry. Use proper ESD protection when handling.
