The HC08JK and HC08JL Families are members of the low cost, high-performance M68HC08 Family of 8-bit microcontroller units (MCUs). The M68HC08 Family is based on the customer-specified integrated circuit (CSIC) design strategy. All MCUs in the family use the enhanced M68HC08 central processor unit (CPU08) and available with a variety of modules, memory sizes and types, and package types.

Instructions:

  1. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the specified range (2.7V to 5.5V).
    • Use a stable power source to avoid voltage fluctuations.
  2. Frequency Operation:

    • The device operates optimally between 8 MHz and 50 MHz. Ensure the clock signal is stable and within this range.
  3. Current Handling:

    • Do not exceed the maximum input current (20 mA) or output current per pin (40 mA) to prevent damage.
    • If higher currents are required, consider using external drivers.
  4. Power Dissipation:

    • Keep the power dissipation below 600 mW to avoid overheating. Use appropriate heat sinking if necessary.
  5. Temperature Considerations:

    • Store the device in temperatures between -40°C and 85°C.
    • Operate the device within the same temperature range to ensure reliable performance.
  6. Leakage Current:

    • Monitor input and output leakage currents to ensure they do not exceed 5 μA to maintain optimal performance.
  7. Handling:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the internal circuits.
    • Follow proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions when handling and soldering the device.
