Instructions for Use:

  1. Handling:

    • Handle the diode with care to avoid mechanical damage.
    • Use proper anti-static precautions to prevent damage from electrostatic discharge.
  2. Mounting:

    • Ensure the leads are not bent too close to the body of the diode to avoid stress.
    • Soldering should be done quickly to minimize heat exposure to the diode.
    • Recommended soldering temperature: 260°C for 10 seconds maximum.
  3. Circuit Design:

    • Ensure the circuit design does not exceed the maximum power dissipation of 500 mW.
    • Use a suitable resistor to limit the current through the diode when it is used as a voltage regulator.
    • The Zener diode should be reverse-biased in the circuit to function correctly.
  4. Storage:

    • Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
    • Keep the diodes in their original packaging until ready for use to protect them from moisture and static.
  5. Testing:

    • Use a multimeter to test the diode. In forward bias, the diode should show a low resistance, and in reverse bias, it should show a high resistance.
    • For Zener testing, apply the reverse voltage and measure the voltage drop across the diode to ensure it is within the specified Zener voltage range.
