Instructions for Use:

  1. Circuit Connection:

    • Connect the input voltage to the "Input" pin.
    • Connect the output voltage to the "Output" pin.
    • Ground the "Ground" pin.
  2. Heat Dissipation:

    • For high current applications, ensure adequate heat sinking to manage thermal resistance and prevent overheating.
    • The thermal resistance from junction to ambient is 65°C/W, so calculate the required heatsink based on the power dissipation.
  3. Input Capacitor:

    • Place a 0.33 μF tantalum or ceramic capacitor between the input and ground to stabilize the input voltage and reduce ripple.
  4. Output Capacitor:

    • Place a 0.1 μF ceramic capacitor between the output and ground to improve transient response and stability.
  5. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (26V to 40V) to avoid damage to the regulator.
  6. Load Regulation:

    • The 7824CV maintains a constant output voltage under varying load conditions up to 1.5A.
  7. Line Regulation:

    • The output voltage remains stable over a wide range of input voltages.
  8. Storage:

    • Store in a dry environment away from extreme temperatures and humidity to prevent damage.
  9. Handling:

    • Handle with care to avoid static discharge which can damage the component. Use proper ESD protection measures.
