Instructions for A4975SLBTR-T

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the supply voltage (VDD) to the power input pin.
    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 8V to 50V.
    • Use a decoupling capacitor (10μF) close to the VDD pin to filter out noise.
  2. Logic Inputs:

    • Connect logic signals to the input pins (IN1, IN2, IN3, IN4).
    • Ensure the logic input voltage (VIN) is within the range of 1.6V to 5.5V.
    • Use pull-up or pull-down resistors as needed to prevent floating inputs.
  3. Motor Outputs:

    • Connect the motor leads to the output pins (OUT1, OUT2, OUT3, OUT4).
    • Ensure the maximum continuous current per channel does not exceed 2.5A.
    • For peak currents, do not exceed 4.5A to avoid overheating.
  4. PWM Control:

    • Use PWM signals to control the speed of the motors.
    • The minimum PWM frequency is 10kHz, but higher frequencies up to 100kHz can be used for smoother operation.
  5. Thermal Management:

    • Ensure proper heat dissipation by mounting the device on a heatsink.
    • Monitor the temperature to ensure it stays within the operating range (-40°C to 150°C).
  6. Shutdown and Standby:

    • To put the device into shutdown mode, set the enable pin (EN) low.
    • In shutdown mode, the current consumption is reduced to approximately 100μA.
    • For standby mode, set all inputs low to reduce current consumption to about 10μA.
  7. Protection Features:

    • The device includes overcurrent, overtemperature, and undervoltage lockout protection.
    • If any of these conditions are detected, the device will automatically shut down to prevent damage.
  8. Layout Considerations:

    • Place the device and associated components on a PCB with good thermal management.
    • Use wide traces for power and ground connections to minimize resistance and inductance.

By following these instructions, you can ensure reliable and efficient operation of the A4975SLBTR-T motor driver.
