Instructions for Use:
Power Supply Connection:
- Connect the positive terminal of the power supply to the Vcc pin.
- Connect the negative terminal of the power supply to the GND pin.
Output Connection:
- Connect the load to the Vout pin.
- Ensure the load does not exceed the maximum output current (700 mA continuous).
Thermal Management:
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation if operating at high currents or temperatures.
- Consider using a heatsink if the device is expected to operate near its maximum ratings.
Capacitors:
- Place a 10 μF tantalum capacitor between Vout and GND close to the device to stabilize the output.
- A 100 nF ceramic capacitor between Vcc and GND is recommended for noise filtering.
Shutdown Mode:
- To enter shutdown mode, pull the SHDN pin low.
- The quiescent current will drop to approximately 1.5 mA in this mode.
Overcurrent Protection:
- The device has built-in overcurrent protection that will shut down the output if the current exceeds the peak current limit (1000 mA).
- After a short delay, the device will automatically restart.
Thermal Shutdown:
- If the device temperature exceeds 150°C, thermal shutdown will be activated to prevent damage.
- The device will automatically resume operation once it cools down below the threshold.
Ripple Rejection:
- The device provides good ripple rejection, but additional filtering may be required for very sensitive applications.
Storage and Handling:
- Store the device in a dry, cool place.
- Handle with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the device.
Compliance:
- Ensure that the device is used within the specified operating conditions to maintain reliability and performance.
