Instructions for Use:

  1. Supply Voltage (Vcc):

    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 2.7V to 30V.
    • For optimal performance, use a supply voltage that is at least 1.3V higher than the desired output voltage.
  2. Quiescent Current (IQ):

    • The quiescent current is typically around 60μA at 5V with no load. This value can be used for power budgeting.
  3. Output Voltage Range (Vout):

    • The output voltage can be set from 1.25V to 30V using external resistors. The formula for setting the output voltage is: Vout = 1.25 * (1 + R2/R1), where R1 and R2 are the feedback resistors.
  4. Dropout Voltage (Vdo):

    • The dropout voltage is the minimum difference between the input and output voltages required to maintain regulation. It is 1.3V at 150mA.
  5. Line Regulation:

    • The line regulation is 0.002%/V, indicating that the output voltage changes very little with variations in the input voltage.
  6. Load Regulation:

    • The load regulation is 0.005%/mA, indicating that the output voltage changes very little with variations in the load current.
  7. Transient Response:

    • The transient response is the change in output voltage when the load current steps from 0 to 150mA. It should not exceed 100mV.
  8. Power Dissipation (PD):

    • The maximum power dissipation is 1.5W at 25°C ambient temperature. Ensure adequate heat sinking if operating near this limit.
  9. Operating Temperature (TJ):

    • The device can operate over a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. Ensure that the junction temperature does not exceed 150°C.

Additional Notes:

  • Capacitors:
    • Use a 1μF capacitor on the input and a 10μF capacitor on the output for stability and filtering.
  • PCB Layout:
    • Place the capacitors close to the IC to minimize parasitic inductance and ensure stable operation.
  • Thermal Management:
    • If the device is expected to dissipate significant power, consider using a heatsink or thermal pad to improve heat dissipation.
