Instructions for Use:
Power Supply Connection:
- Connect the positive terminal of the power supply to the VDD pin.
- Connect the negative terminal (ground) to the GND pin.
Output Configuration:
- Connect the load to the VOUT pin.
- Ensure the load current does not exceed the maximum output current rating.
Capacitor Requirements:
- Place a 10 μF tantalum capacitor between VOUT and GND close to the regulator to ensure stability.
- Optionally, add a 0.1 μF ceramic capacitor between VDD and GND for additional noise filtering.
Thermal Management:
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation if operating near the maximum output current.
- Use a heatsink if necessary, especially in high ambient temperatures.
Adjustable Output Voltage:
- For adjustable output voltage, use an external resistor network between the ADJ pin and ground.
- The formula for setting the output voltage is: VOUT = 1.25 * (1 + R2/R1), where R1 is the resistor from ADJ to ground and R2 is the resistor from VOUT to ADJ.
Protection Features:
- The device includes thermal shutdown and overcurrent protection.
- Do not operate the device beyond its specified temperature and current limits to avoid damage.
Storage and Handling:
- Store the device in a dry environment within the specified storage temperature range.
- Handle with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the device.
Testing:
- Before connecting to the final application, test the regulator with a known load to ensure it meets the required specifications.
Compliance:
- Ensure the device complies with all relevant safety and regulatory standards for your application.
