Instructions for Use:

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the positive terminal of the power supply to the VDD pin.
    • Connect the negative terminal (ground) to the GND pin.
  2. Output Configuration:

    • Connect the load to the VOUT pin.
    • Ensure the load current does not exceed the maximum output current rating.
  3. Capacitor Requirements:

    • Place a 10 μF tantalum capacitor between VOUT and GND close to the regulator to ensure stability.
    • Optionally, add a 0.1 μF ceramic capacitor between VDD and GND for additional noise filtering.
  4. Thermal Management:

    • Ensure adequate heat dissipation if operating near the maximum output current.
    • Use a heatsink if necessary, especially in high ambient temperatures.
  5. Adjustable Output Voltage:

    • For adjustable output voltage, use an external resistor network between the ADJ pin and ground.
    • The formula for setting the output voltage is: VOUT = 1.25 * (1 + R2/R1), where R1 is the resistor from ADJ to ground and R2 is the resistor from VOUT to ADJ.
  6. Protection Features:

    • The device includes thermal shutdown and overcurrent protection.
    • Do not operate the device beyond its specified temperature and current limits to avoid damage.
  7. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the device in a dry environment within the specified storage temperature range.
    • Handle with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the device.
  8. Testing:

    • Before connecting to the final application, test the regulator with a known load to ensure it meets the required specifications.
  9. Compliance:

    • Ensure the device complies with all relevant safety and regulatory standards for your application.
