Instructions for TDA7498L

  1. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the supply voltage (VCC) is within the range of 10V to 15V.
    • Use a stable power source to avoid fluctuations that could affect performance.
  2. Standby Mode:

    • To enter standby mode, set the STBY pin to low (0V). The quiescent current will drop to approximately 10mA.
    • To resume normal operation, set the STBY pin to high (VCC).
  3. Input Connection:

    • Connect the audio input signal to the IN+ and IN- pins. The input impedance is 47kΩ.
    • Ensure the input signal level is between 200mV and 1000mV for optimal performance.
  4. Output Configuration:

    • For 8Ω speakers, the output power is typically 2 x 20W.
    • For 4Ω speakers, the output power increases to 2 x 40W.
    • Connect the speaker outputs to the OUT+ and OUT- pins.
  5. Thermal Management:

    • Ensure adequate heat dissipation to prevent overheating, especially at higher power levels.
    • Use a heatsink if necessary, especially when operating near the maximum power output.
  6. Signal-to-Noise Ratio:

    • The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is 90dB, which is suitable for most audio applications.
    • Use shielded cables for input signals to minimize noise pickup.
  7. Channel Separation:

    • The channel separation is 60dB, ensuring minimal crosstalk between channels.
  8. Temperature Considerations:

    • The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C.
    • Store the device in a temperature range of -55°C to 125°C.
  9. Protection Features:

    • The TDA7498L includes thermal shutdown and short-circuit protection to safeguard the device from damage.
  10. PCB Layout:

    • Ensure proper PCB layout with short leads and good grounding to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI).
    • Place decoupling capacitors close to the power supply pins to stabilize the supply voltage.
