Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the VCC pin to a 5V DC power supply.
    • Connect the GND pin to the ground of the power supply.
  2. Trigger Pulse:

    • Send a 10μs TTL pulse to the TRIG pin to start the ranging.
    • The sensor will automatically send out an ultrasonic burst and wait for the echo.
  3. Echo Signal:

    • The ECHO pin will output a high-level pulse whose duration is proportional to the distance to the object.
    • Measure the duration of the high-level pulse using a microcontroller or timer.
    • Distance (in cm) can be calculated using the formula: [ text = frac{text{Pulse Duration (in μs)}} ]
  4. Maximum Ranging Interval:

    • To ensure accurate readings, the maximum ranging interval should be at least 60ms between two trigger pulses.
  5. Mounting:

    • Mount the sensor in a stable position with the ultrasonic transducer facing the area to be measured.
    • Avoid placing the sensor near reflective surfaces that could cause false readings.
  6. Interference:

    • Ensure that multiple sensors are not placed too close to each other to avoid interference.
    • If using multiple sensors, stagger the trigger pulses to prevent overlapping signals.
