Instructions for Use

  1. Input Connection:

    • Connect the input voltage (VIN) to the positive terminal of the power supply.
    • Ensure the input voltage is within the operating range of 4.5V to 28V.
  2. Output Configuration:

    • Adjust the output voltage (VOUT) using an external resistor divider network connected to the FB (feedback) pin.
    • The output voltage can be set from 0.9V to VIN - 0.6V.
  3. Output Load:

    • The MB10S can provide up to 3A of continuous output current.
    • Ensure the load does not exceed this limit to avoid overcurrent protection triggering.
  4. Thermal Management:

    • The device has built-in thermal shutdown to protect against overheating.
    • For high current applications, ensure adequate heat dissipation by mounting the device on a heatsink or PCB with good thermal conductivity.
  5. Shutdown Mode:

    • To put the device into shutdown mode, pull the EN (enable) pin low.
    • In shutdown mode, the quiescent current drops to less than 1μA.
  6. PCB Layout:

    • Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the device to minimize parasitic inductance.
    • Use wide traces for the input and output paths to reduce resistance and improve performance.
  7. Protection:

    • The MB10S includes overcurrent protection and thermal shutdown to safeguard against short circuits and excessive temperature.
    • Ensure the input voltage and load are within the specified limits to avoid triggering these protections.
  8. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the device in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
    • Handle the device with care to avoid static damage; use ESD protection where necessary.
