Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
- Avoid exceeding these limits to prevent damage to the regulator.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- The output voltage can be adjusted between 0.8V and 3.3V.
- Use the external resistor divider to set the desired output voltage.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The regulator can supply up to 300mA continuously.
- Ensure that the load does not exceed this current limit to avoid overheating.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is typically 1.0μA at 5V input and 3.3V output with no load.
- This low quiescent current makes the regulator suitable for battery-powered applications.
Dropout Voltage (VDROPOUT):
- The dropout voltage is typically 0.4V at 300mA output current.
- Ensure that the input voltage is at least 0.4V higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
Load Regulation:
- The load regulation is typically 0.1% over the load range from 0 to 300mA.
- This ensures stable output voltage under varying load conditions.
Line Regulation:
- The line regulation is typically 0.1% over the input voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V.
- This ensures stable output voltage under varying input conditions.
Thermal Shutdown:
- The regulator will shut down if the temperature exceeds 160°C to protect against overheating.
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation, especially under high load conditions.
Operating Temperature Range:
- The regulator operates reliably within the temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
- Avoid operating outside this range to prevent performance degradation or damage.
Storage Temperature Range:
- The regulator can be stored in temperatures ranging from -65°C to 150°C.
- Ensure proper storage conditions to maintain long-term reliability.
Additional Notes:
Capacitors:
- Use a 1μF ceramic capacitor on the input side and a 1μF ceramic capacitor on the output side for stability.
- These capacitors should be placed as close as possible to the regulator to minimize parasitic inductance.
PCB Layout:
- Ensure good thermal management by providing a thermal pad or heatsink if necessary.
- Follow recommended PCB layout guidelines to optimize performance and reliability.
