Instructions for Use:

  1. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 5.5V.
    • The typical supply current is 1.8mA, but it can go up to 2.5mA.
  2. Temperature Measurement:

    • The AD597AHZ operates over a temperature range from -40°C to 125°C.
    • For optimal accuracy, use the device within the 0°C to 100°C range where nonlinearity and hysteresis are minimized.
  3. Output Voltage:

    • The output voltage is linearly proportional to the temperature.
    • At 0°C, the output voltage is 0V.
    • At 100°C, the output voltage is 500mV.
    • The thermal sensitivity ratio (TSR) is 0.25mV/°C.
  4. Calibration:

    • Calibrate the device if necessary by adjusting for zero offset and span.
    • Zero offset should be within ±10mV at 25°C.
    • Span should be within 490mV to 510mV at 25°C.
  5. Thermal Response:

    • The thermal time constant (τ) is typically 15 seconds, indicating the time it takes for the sensor to reach 63.2% of its final value after a step change in temperature.
  6. Nonlinearity and Hysteresis:

    • Nonlinearity is typically ±0.1% FSO (Full Scale Output) over the 0°C to 100°C range.
    • Hysteresis is typically ±0.05% FSO over the same range.
  7. Handling and Storage:

    • Store the device in a dry environment to prevent moisture damage.
    • Handle with care to avoid mechanical stress which could affect performance.
  8. Mounting:

    • Mount the device in a location that accurately reflects the temperature you wish to measure.
    • Avoid mounting near heat sources or in direct sunlight to prevent inaccurate readings.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure optimal performance and reliability of the AD597AHZ temperature sensor.
