Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage (V_IN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 30V.
- The device will not operate outside this range.
Output Voltage (V_OUT):
- The output voltage is fixed at 5.0V. No external components are required for voltage setting.
Output Current (I_OUT):
- The device can provide up to 2.0A of output current, with typical operation at 1.5A.
- Ensure that the load does not exceed the maximum current rating to avoid damage.
Quiescent Current (I_Q):
- The quiescent current is typically 2.0mA. This is the current consumed by the regulator when no load is present.
Dropout Voltage (V_DROPOUT):
- The dropout voltage is 0.8V at an output current of 1.5A and an input voltage of 5V.
- Ensure that the input voltage is at least 0.8V higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
Load Regulation:
- The load regulation is 0.5% from 0 to 2A. This indicates the change in output voltage due to changes in load current.
Line Regulation:
- The line regulation is 0.05% from 4.5V to 30V. This indicates the change in output voltage due to changes in input voltage.
Ripple Rejection:
- The ripple rejection is 60dB at 1kHz. This indicates the ability of the regulator to suppress input ripple on the output.
Operating Temperature (T_OP):
- The device is designed to operate within the temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
- Avoid operating the device outside this range to prevent damage or reduced performance.
Storage Temperature (T_STG):
- The device can be stored within the temperature range of -65°C to 150°C.
- Ensure that the device is not exposed to extreme temperatures for extended periods during storage.
Additional Notes:
- Thermal Considerations: Ensure adequate heat dissipation if the device is operating at high currents or in high ambient temperatures.
- Capacitors: Use appropriate input and output capacitors to ensure stability and reduce ripple. Refer to the datasheet for specific recommendations.
- PCB Layout: Follow good PCB layout practices to minimize noise and ensure reliable operation.
