Instructions for Use:
Power Supply:
- Connect Vcc to +5V and GND to 0V.
- Ensure a stable power supply within the specified range to avoid damage.
Enable Input (E):
- Set E to LOW (0V) to enable the multiplexer.
- Set E to HIGH (5V) to disable the multiplexer, which will set the output to HIGH impedance.
Data Inputs (A0-A7):
- Connect the data inputs A0 to A7 to the signals you want to multiplex.
- Only one input is selected at a time based on the address lines.
Address Inputs (S0-S2):
- Use S0, S1, and S2 to select which of the 8 data inputs (A0-A7) is routed to the output.
- The address lines are binary coded, where S0 is the least significant bit and S2 is the most significant bit.
Output (Y):
- The selected data input (based on S0-S2) appears at the output Y when E is LOW.
- When E is HIGH, the output Y is in a high-impedance state.
Grounding:
- Ensure all ground connections are properly made to avoid noise and interference.
Decoupling Capacitors:
- Place a 0.1μF ceramic capacitor close to the Vcc and GND pins to filter out noise and provide stable operation.
Handling:
- Handle the IC with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the device.
- Follow proper soldering techniques to ensure reliable connections and prevent thermal damage.
Testing:
- Test the IC by applying known input signals and verifying the correct output using a logic analyzer or oscilloscope.
Storage:
- Store the IC in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to maintain its integrity.
