Instructions for Using LT3791EFE#TRPBF:
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 80V.
- Connect the input power supply to the VIN pin.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- The output voltage is user-defined and can be set using external components such as resistors or by configuring the feedback loop.
- Connect the output load to the VOUT pin.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The output current is also user-defined and depends on the application requirements.
- Use the current sense resistor (RSENSE) to monitor and limit the output current.
Switching Frequency (fSW):
- Set the switching frequency by connecting an external resistor (RT) to the RT/CLK pin.
- The typical range is from 100kHz to 1000kHz.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is typically 1.2mA, which is the current consumed by the IC when it is active but not driving any load.
Operating Voltage Range (VCC):
- The operating voltage range is the same as the input voltage range, from 4.5V to 80V.
Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO):
- The UVLO threshold is 2.7V. If the input voltage drops below this level, the IC will shut down to protect the circuit.
Over-Voltage Lockout (OVLO):
- The OVLO threshold is 85V. If the input voltage exceeds this level, the IC will shut down to protect the circuit.
Current Sense Voltage (ISNS):
- The current sense voltage is between 50mV and 100mV. This voltage is used to monitor the output current and provide overcurrent protection.
Junction Temperature (Tj):
- The junction temperature should be kept between -40°C and 150°C to ensure reliable operation.
Thermal Resistance (θJA):
- The thermal resistance from the junction to ambient is 65°C/W. Proper heat sinking may be required for high-power applications.
Power Dissipation (PSOAK):
- The maximum power dissipation in soak mode is 2.5W. Ensure adequate cooling if the IC is expected to operate at high temperatures.
Additional Notes:
- Always refer to the datasheet for detailed information and specific application notes.
- Ensure all external components are rated appropriately for the intended operating conditions.
- Use appropriate PCB layout techniques to minimize noise and improve performance.
