Instructions:
Power Supply:
- Connect the supply voltage (4.5V to 24V) to the VCC pin.
- Connect the ground (GND) to the common ground.
Signal Connections:
- Connect the A, B, and Z (index) signals to your controller or microprocessor.
- Ensure that pull-up resistors are used for the open collector outputs (typically 1kΩ to 10kΩ).
Installation:
- Insert the encoder into the mounting hole on your PCB.
- Secure the encoder using the provided screws or clips.
Operation:
- Rotate the shaft to generate quadrature signals (A and B) and an index pulse (Z) once per revolution.
- Use the A and B signals to determine the direction of rotation.
- Use the Z signal to identify the start of a new revolution.
Maintenance:
- Avoid exposing the encoder to extreme temperatures, moisture, or physical shock.
- Regularly inspect the connections and mounting for any signs of wear or damage.
Troubleshooting:
- If the encoder is not generating signals, check the power supply and connections.
- If the signals are erratic, ensure that the pull-up resistors are correctly installed and functioning.
