Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 20V.
- Avoid exceeding the maximum input voltage to prevent damage.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- The output voltage can be adjusted between 1.2V and 5.5V.
- Use the external resistor network to set the desired output voltage.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The device can provide up to 3A of output current.
- For optimal performance, keep the load within the typical range of 1.5A.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is typically around 20μA but can go up to 50μA.
- This is the current consumed by the device when no load is applied.
Dropout Voltage (VDROP):
- The dropout voltage is the minimum difference between the input and output voltages required to maintain regulation.
- It is typically 0.5V at 3A but can go up to 1.2V.
Line and Load Regulation:
- Both line and load regulation are very low, ensuring stable output under varying conditions.
- Line regulation is the change in output voltage per unit change in input voltage.
- Load regulation is the change in output voltage per unit change in load current.
Ripple Rejection:
- The device provides good ripple rejection, typically ranging from 60dB to 80dB at 1kHz.
- This helps in maintaining a clean output voltage.
Operating and Storage Temperature:
- The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 125°C.
- The storage temperature range is from -55°C to 150°C.
Mounting and Handling:
- Ensure proper mounting to a heat sink if operating at high currents or temperatures.
- Handle the device with care to avoid static damage.
Circuit Design:
- Refer to the datasheet for recommended circuit designs and component values.
- Use appropriate capacitors and resistors to ensure stability and performance.
