Instructions for Using TLP183:

  1. Forward Voltage (VF):

    • Ensure that the forward voltage across the LED does not exceed 1.6V when the forward current is 20mA to avoid damaging the device.
  2. Peak Forward Current (IF(surge)):

    • The device can handle peak currents up to 1.5A for a pulse duration of 10ms with a repetition rate of 10%. Exceeding these limits can cause permanent damage.
  3. Continuous Forward Current (IF):

    • The continuous forward current should not exceed 50mA at ambient temperature (TA = 25°C). Higher temperatures may require derating the current.
  4. Reverse Voltage (VRRM):

    • The maximum reverse voltage that can be applied is 5V. Exceeding this value can lead to breakdown and potential damage.
  5. Reverse Current (IR):

    • The reverse current should be kept below 1μA when a reverse voltage of 5V is applied to ensure reliable operation.
  6. Output Current (IC):

    • The output current should not exceed 150mA to maintain the collector-emitter saturation voltage within safe limits.
  7. Collector-Emitter Saturation Voltage (VCE(sat)):

    • When the output current is 100mA, the collector-emitter saturation voltage should be between 0.4V and 0.7V. Higher voltages indicate the device may be approaching its limits.
  8. Storage Temperature Range (TSTG):

    • Store the device in an environment where the temperature ranges from -40°C to 100°C to prevent damage.
  9. Operating Temperature Range (TA):

    • The device is designed to operate within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Ensure proper heat dissipation if operating near the upper limit.
  10. Handling Precautions:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid mechanical stress.
    • Use appropriate ESD protection measures to prevent electrostatic discharge damage.
    • Ensure all connections are secure and correctly wired to prevent short circuits or open circuits.
