Instructions for Use

  1. Mounting:

    • Ensure that the IGBT is mounted on a heatsink to manage heat dissipation effectively.
    • Use thermal paste between the IGBT and the heatsink to improve thermal conductivity.
  2. Gate Drive:

    • Apply a gate-emitter voltage (VGE) of at least 15V to ensure reliable turn-on.
    • For turn-off, apply a negative gate-emitter voltage of at least -15V to ensure rapid and complete turn-off.
  3. Current Limiting:

    • Do not exceed the continuous collector current ratings for the specified case temperature.
    • For pulse operation, ensure that the pulse duration and frequency do not exceed the safe operating area (SOA).
  4. Temperature Management:

    • Monitor the junction temperature to ensure it does not exceed 150°C.
    • Use appropriate cooling methods such as forced air or liquid cooling if necessary.
  5. Storage:

    • Store the IGBT in a dry environment within the storage temperature range (-55°C to 150°C).
    • Avoid exposure to high humidity and corrosive environments.
  6. Handling:

    • Handle the IGBT with care to avoid mechanical damage.
    • Use ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection when handling the device to prevent damage from static electricity.
  7. Testing:

    • Before installation, perform a visual inspection to ensure there are no physical damages.
    • Test the IGBT using a suitable test setup to verify its functionality and parameters.
  8. Safety:

    • Always follow safety guidelines when working with high-voltage and high-current circuits.
    • Ensure proper insulation and grounding to prevent electrical hazards.
