Instructions for Using RT8295

  1. Input Voltage (VIN):

    • Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 3.0V to 6.0V.
    • Do not exceed the maximum input voltage to avoid damaging the device.
  2. Output Voltage (VOUT):

    • The output voltage can be adjusted between 1.2V and 5.5V using external resistors.
    • Use the formula ( V_ = 1.2V left(1 + fracright) ) to set the desired output voltage, where ( R_1 ) and ( R_2 ) are the feedback resistors.
  3. Output Current (IOUT):

    • The typical output current is 1.5A, with a maximum of 3.0A.
    • Ensure the load does not exceed the maximum output current to prevent overheating or damage.
  4. Quiescent Current (IQ):

    • The quiescent current is typically 25μA.
    • This low quiescent current helps in reducing power consumption during normal operation.
  5. Shutdown Current (ISD):

    • The shutdown current is typically 1μA.
    • Use the shutdown pin to turn off the device when not in use to save power.
  6. Efficiency (η):

    • The typical efficiency is 95%.
    • High efficiency ensures minimal power loss and reduced heat generation.
  7. Operating Temperature (TOPR):

    • The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C.
    • Ensure the device operates within this temperature range to maintain reliability and performance.
  8. Storage Temperature (TSTG):

    • The storage temperature range is from -55°C to 150°C.
    • Store the device in a dry place within this temperature range to prevent damage.
  9. Thermal Resistance (θJA):

    • The thermal resistance is typically 50°C/W.
    • Use appropriate heatsinking if the device will operate at high power levels to ensure adequate cooling.
  10. Package:

    • The RT8295 is available in a SOT-23-5 package.
    • Follow the recommended PCB layout guidelines to ensure proper soldering and thermal management.

Additional Notes:

  • Always refer to the datasheet for detailed specifications and application notes.
  • Use appropriate decoupling capacitors on the input and output to filter noise and stabilize the supply.
  • Ensure all connections are secure and follow good PCB design practices to avoid issues.
