Instructions for Use
Circuit Design:
- Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (7V to 24V).
- Place a 10μF tantalum or ceramic capacitor close to the input pin to stabilize the input voltage.
- Place a 10μF tantalum or ceramic capacitor close to the output pin to stabilize the output voltage.
Heat Dissipation:
- The R6015KNX can dissipate significant heat when operating at high currents. Ensure adequate heat sinking to keep the junction temperature below 125°C.
- Use a heatsink with sufficient thermal resistance to maintain the device within its operating temperature range.
Mounting:
- Mount the regulator on a PCB with good thermal management. Ensure the PCB has a large copper area connected to the heatsink tab for better heat dissipation.
- Use a thermal compound between the regulator and the heatsink to improve thermal conductivity.
Overcurrent and Thermal Protection:
- The device includes overcurrent and thermal shutdown protection. In case of an overcurrent condition, the output will be reduced to limit the current. If the temperature exceeds the safe limit, the device will shut down until it cools down.
Storage:
- Store the device in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Handle with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the component.
Testing:
- Before final assembly, test the regulator in a controlled environment to ensure it meets the required specifications.
- Use a multimeter to verify the output voltage and current capabilities.
