Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 1.65V to 15V.
- The input voltage should be at least 1.3V higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- The AMS1117-1.2V is designed to provide a stable 1.2V output.
- No external components are required for this fixed output voltage version.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The maximum continuous output current is 1A.
- Ensure the load does not exceed this limit to avoid overheating or damage.
Thermal Considerations:
- The device has a thermal shutdown feature that activates at approximately 160°C.
- Use a heatsink if the device will operate near its maximum output current or in high ambient temperatures.
Capacitors:
- Place a 10μF tantalum or ceramic capacitor close to the input pin to ensure stability.
- A 10μF tantalum or ceramic capacitor on the output pin is recommended to improve transient response and stability.
PCB Layout:
- Keep the PCB traces short and wide to minimize resistance and inductance.
- Ensure proper grounding and decoupling to reduce noise and improve performance.
Storage and Handling:
- Store the device in a dry environment within the temperature range of -65°C to 150°C.
- Handle with care to avoid static discharge and physical damage.
