Instructions for Use:

  1. Input Voltage (VIN):

    • Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.5V to 5.5V.
    • The input capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the VIN and GND pins to minimize noise.
  2. Output Voltage (VOUT):

    • The output voltage can be adjusted using external resistors. The formula for setting the output voltage is: [ V_ = 0.8 left(1 + fracright) ]
    • Choose R1 and R2 values to achieve the desired output voltage.
  3. Output Current (IOUT):

    • The maximum continuous output current is 3.0A. Ensure the load does not exceed this limit to avoid damage.
  4. Quiescent Current (IQ):

    • The quiescent current is typically 15μA at 5V input and 3.3V output with no load.
  5. Shutdown Current (ISD):

    • When the shutdown pin (SHDN) is pulled low (0V), the device enters a low-power mode with a typical shutdown current of 0.1μA.
  6. Dropout Voltage (VDROPOUT):

    • The dropout voltage is the minimum difference between VIN and VOUT required to maintain regulation. It is typically 0.3V at full load.
  7. Load Regulation:

    • The change in output voltage due to changes in load current should be less than 1% over the specified range.
  8. Line Regulation:

    • The change in output voltage due to changes in input voltage should be less than 0.2% over the specified range.
  9. Enable Input (SHDN):

    • The enable pin can be used to turn the device on or off. Apply a high level (≥1.2V) to enable the device and a low level (≤0.8V) to disable it.
  10. Operating and Storage Temperature:

    • The device operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and can be stored between -65°C and 150°C.

Additional Notes:

  • Always ensure proper PCB layout to minimize parasitic effects and improve performance.
  • Use appropriate decoupling capacitors to stabilize the input and output voltages.
  • Refer to the datasheet for more detailed information and specific application notes.
