Instructions for Use
Supply Voltage (Vcc):
- Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 5.5V. The device can tolerate input voltages from 2.7V to 5.5V but optimal performance is achieved within the specified supply range.
Output Voltage (Vout):
- The output voltage is adjustable and can be set between 1.2V and 5.0V. Use the external resistors R1 and R2 to set the desired output voltage according to the formula: [ V_ = 1.2 left(1 + fracright) ]
Output Current (Iout):
- The device can provide up to 300mA of continuous output current. Ensure that the load does not exceed this limit to avoid overheating or damage.
Quiescent Current (Iq):
- The quiescent current is typically 2.5μA when there is no load. This low quiescent current makes the device suitable for battery-powered applications.
Dropout Voltage (Vdo):
- The dropout voltage is typically 1.0V at an output current of 300mA and an output voltage of 5V. Ensure that the input voltage is at least 1.0V higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation.
Load Regulation:
- The load regulation is 0.5% over the load range from 10mA to 300mA. This indicates the stability of the output voltage under varying load conditions.
Line Regulation:
- The line regulation is 0.05%/V over the input voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V. This ensures that the output voltage remains stable even if the input voltage varies.
Ripple Rejection (PSRR):
- The power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) is 70dB at 1kHz, which helps in filtering out noise from the input power supply.
Operating Temperature (Topr):
- The device operates reliably over a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. Ensure that the ambient temperature does not exceed these limits.
Storage Temperature (Tstg):
- The device can be stored in temperatures ranging from -65°C to 150°C without damage.
Additional Notes:
- Always use appropriate decoupling capacitors on both the input and output sides to ensure stability and reduce noise.
- For optimal performance, place the device close to the load and use short, wide traces for power connections.
- Refer to the datasheet for detailed information on PCB layout recommendations and thermal considerations.
