Instructions:
Mounting:
- Ensure the DA2A-5V is mounted on a heatsink if it will be operating at high output currents or in high ambient temperatures.
- Use a thermal compound to improve heat transfer between the regulator and the heatsink.
Input Voltage:
- The input voltage must be within the specified range (6V to 30V) to ensure proper regulation.
- A higher input voltage will increase power dissipation, so ensure adequate cooling.
Output Voltage:
- The output voltage is fixed at 5V. No external components are required to set this voltage.
Output Current:
- The regulator can provide up to 1A of continuous current. For higher currents, consider using a higher-rated regulator or multiple regulators in parallel.
Dropout Voltage:
- The input voltage must be at least 1.2V higher than the output voltage to maintain regulation. For example, if the output is 5V, the input should be at least 6.2V.
Quiescent Current:
- The regulator consumes 5mA of current even when no load is present. This is important to consider in low-power applications.
Operating Temperature:
- The device can operate reliably from -40°C to +85°C. Ensure that the ambient temperature does not exceed these limits.
Pin Configuration:
- Pin 1: Connect to the input voltage.
- Pin 2: Connect to ground.
- Pin 3: Connect to the output voltage.
Capacitors:
- It is recommended to use bypass capacitors (typically 10μF) on both the input and output sides to filter out noise and improve stability.
Testing:
- Before final assembly, test the regulator with a known load to ensure it is functioning correctly. Measure the output voltage and current to verify performance.
