Instructions for Use:
Supply Voltage (VDD):
- Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 3V to 15V. The device may not function correctly outside this range.
Input Voltage Levels:
- For a high input level (VIH), the voltage should be at least 0.7 times the supply voltage.
- For a low input level (VIL), the voltage should be no more than 0.3 times the supply voltage.
Output Voltage Levels:
- When the output is high (VOH), it will be at least 0.85 times the supply voltage and typically around 0.9 times the supply voltage.
- When the output is low (VOL), it will be no more than 0.2 times the supply voltage.
Propagation Delay Time (tpd):
- The propagation delay time is the time it takes for the output to respond to a change in the input. At 5V supply voltage and 1 MHz frequency, the typical delay is 18 ns, with a minimum of 10 ns and a maximum of 30 ns.
Power Dissipation (PD):
- The maximum power dissipation at 25°C ambient temperature is 100 mW. Ensure adequate heat dissipation if operating near this limit.
Operating and Storage Temperature:
- The device can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C.
- For storage, the temperature range is -65°C to 150°C.
Handling Precautions:
- Handle the device with care to avoid static damage. Use proper ESD protection when handling the device.
- Ensure all connections are secure and correct to prevent damage or malfunction.
Application Notes:
- The CD40109BE is a 9-stage Johnson counter with divide-by-2, 4, 8, and 16 outputs. It is suitable for use in digital circuits requiring frequency division and timing functions.
