Instructions for Use:

  1. Circuit Connection:

    • Connect the reference pin (REF) to the output pin (OUT) through a resistor (R1).
    • Connect the output pin (OUT) to the load.
    • Connect the cathode of a capacitor (Cadj) between the REF and GND pins.
  2. Adjustment Resistor Calculation:

    • The output voltage (Vout) can be adjusted using the formula: Vout = Vref * (1 + R2/R1) + Iadj * R2
    • Where:
      • Vref is the reference voltage (2.5V).
      • R1 is the resistor connected between OUT and REF.
      • R2 is the resistor connected between REF and GND.
      • Iadj is the adjustment current (typically 0.4 to 1.0 mA).
  3. Capacitor Selection:

    • Use a 1 μF capacitor (Cadj) between the REF and GND pins to ensure stability.
    • For better transient response, a small ceramic capacitor (e.g., 0.1 μF) can be added between OUT and GND.
  4. Thermal Management:

    • Ensure adequate heat sinking if operating at high currents or in high ambient temperatures to prevent overheating.
    • The maximum junction temperature should not exceed 150°C.
  5. Operating Conditions:

    • Ensure the input voltage is at least 0.7V to 1.3V higher than the desired output voltage to maintain regulation.
    • Operate within the specified temperature range to avoid damage and ensure reliable performance.
  6. Storage and Handling:

    • Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
    • Handle with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the component.
