Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (0.9V to 5.5V). Exceeding this range can damage the device.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- The output voltage is fixed at 3.3V. No external components are required to set this voltage.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The device can provide up to 2.0A of continuous output current. For applications requiring more current, consider using a higher-rated device or parallel operation.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is typically 30μA and can go up to 50μA. This is the current drawn by the regulator when there is no load.
Dropout Voltage (VDROPOUT):
- The dropout voltage is the minimum difference between the input and output voltages required for the regulator to maintain regulation. It is typically 180mV and can go up to 220mV at full load.
Load Regulation:
- The output voltage will change by up to 2% when the load changes from 0 to full load. For critical applications, consider using additional filtering or a post-regulator.
Line Regulation:
- The output voltage will change by up to 1% when the input voltage changes. Ensure the input voltage is stable to maintain consistent output.
Ripple Rejection (PSRR):
- The device provides 60 to 70dB of power supply ripple rejection at 100Hz. Use appropriate input capacitors to filter out high-frequency noise.
Operating Temperature (Toper):
- The device operates reliably over the temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. Avoid exposing the device to temperatures outside this range.
Storage Temperature (Tstg):
- Store the device in a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C to ensure long-term reliability.
PCB Layout:
- Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the regulator to minimize noise and improve stability. Use a ground plane to help dissipate heat.
Thermal Considerations:
- The device has a thermal shutdown feature to protect against overheating. Ensure adequate heat sinking if operating at high currents or in high-temperature environments.
