Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
- The device will not function properly outside this range.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- The output voltage is fixed at 1.8V. No external resistors are required for voltage setting.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The maximum continuous output current is 600mA. Ensure the load does not exceed this limit to avoid overheating or damage.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is typically 2.4μA, which is very low, making the device suitable for battery-powered applications.
Dropout Voltage:
- The dropout voltage is typically 250mV at an output current of 300mA and an input voltage of 3.3V. This means the input voltage should be at least 250mV higher than the output voltage for proper regulation.
Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR):
- The PSRR is between 70dB and 80dB at 1kHz with an output current of 100mA. This indicates good rejection of input voltage variations.
Load Regulation:
- The load regulation is 0.1%, meaning the output voltage will vary by only 0.1% over the load range from 10mA to 600mA.
Line Regulation:
- The line regulation is 0.1%, indicating that the output voltage will vary by only 0.1% over the input voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V.
Operating Temperature (TOPR):
- The device can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 125°C. Ensure the ambient temperature does not exceed these limits.
Storage Temperature (TSTG):
- The device can be stored in temperatures ranging from -65°C to 150°C. However, ensure it is brought back to operating temperature before use.
Additional Considerations:
- Capacitors:
- Use a 1μF ceramic capacitor on the input side (CIN) and a 1μF ceramic capacitor on the output side (COUT) for stability and noise reduction.
- PCB Layout:
- Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the respective pins to minimize parasitic inductance.
- Thermal Management:
- If the device is expected to operate near its maximum output current, consider adding a heat sink or ensuring adequate airflow to prevent overheating.
