Instructions for Use:
Input Capacitor (CIN):
- Use a ceramic capacitor with X7R or better dielectric.
- Place as close to the input pins as possible.
- Recommended value: 10 μF.
Output Capacitor (COUT):
- Use a low ESR ceramic capacitor.
- Place as close to the output pins as possible.
- Recommended value: 10 μF.
Inductor (L):
- Choose an inductor with a saturation current rating higher than the maximum output current.
- Recommended value: 4.7 μH.
Feedback Resistor (RFB):
- Set the output voltage using the feedback resistor network.
- For 5V output, use a standard resistor value pair.
Bootstrap Capacitor (CB):
- Connect between the BST and SW pins.
- Recommended value: 0.1 μF ceramic.
Thermal Management:
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation, especially at high output currents.
- Use a heatsink if necessary.
Layout Considerations:
- Keep high-current paths short and wide.
- Use ground planes to reduce noise and improve thermal performance.
Start-Up Time:
- The device will start up when the input voltage exceeds the UVLO threshold.
- Typical start-up time is less than 1 ms.
Short-Circuit Protection:
- The device has built-in short-circuit protection that limits the output current and cycles the switch off until the fault condition is removed.
Thermal Shutdown:
- The device will shut down if the junction temperature exceeds 160°C.
- It will automatically restart once the temperature drops below the hysteresis point.
