Instructions for Using the CD4513:

  1. Supply Voltage (VCC):

    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 3.0V to 18V.
    • Connect the positive terminal of the power supply to VCC and the negative terminal to GND.
  2. Input Logic Levels:

    • For a logic low, the input voltage should be between 0V and 0.8V.
    • For a logic high, the input voltage should be between 2.0V and VCC.
  3. Output Current:

    • The output can sink up to 6mA (IOL) and source up to 0.4mA (IOH).
    • Ensure that the load connected to the output does not exceed these current limits.
  4. Propagation Delay:

    • The typical propagation delay time (tpd) is 25ns, with a maximum of 100ns.
    • The high-to-low and low-to-high propagation delays (tphl and tplh) are also 25ns to 100ns.
    • The maximum propagation delay (tpd(max)) is 150ns.
  5. Temperature Ranges:

    • The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C.
    • The storage temperature range is from -65°C to 150°C.
  6. Pin Configuration:

    • Refer to the datasheet for the specific pin configuration and functions.
    • Ensure all unused inputs are tied to a known state (either VCC or GND) to avoid floating inputs.
  7. Decoupling Capacitors:

    • Place a 0.1μF ceramic capacitor close to the VCC and GND pins to filter out noise and stabilize the supply voltage.
  8. Handling Precautions:

    • The CD4513 is sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Use proper ESD protection when handling the device.
    • Avoid exceeding the maximum ratings specified in the datasheet to prevent damage to the device.
