Instructions for 25LC640T-I/SN

  1. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the operating voltage (VCC) is within the range of 2.5V to 5.5V.
    • Connect the ground (GND) pin to a stable ground reference.
  2. Communication:

    • The device uses the SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) protocol.
    • Connect the following pins:
      • MISO (Master In, Slave Out): Data output from the device.
      • MOSI (Master Out, Slave In): Data input to the device.
      • SCK (Serial Clock): Clock signal from the master.
      • CS (Chip Select): Active low signal to select the device.
  3. Initialization:

    • Before any communication, ensure the CS pin is high (inactive).
    • To start communication, pull the CS pin low (active).
  4. Reading Data:

    • Send the Read command (0x03) followed by the address of the data to be read.
    • The device will respond with the data at the specified address.
  5. Writing Data:

    • Send the Write Enable command (0x06) to allow writing.
    • Send the Write command (0x02) followed by the starting address and the data to be written.
    • The write operation will take up to 5ms to complete.
  6. Page Write:

    • Up to 32 bytes can be written in a single page write operation.
    • Ensure the data does not cross a 32-byte boundary.
  7. Status Register:

    • Use the Read Status Register command (0x05) to check the status of the device.
    • Use the Write Status Register command (0x01) to modify the status register settings.
  8. Endurance and Data Retention:

    • The device is rated for 1 million write cycles.
    • Data retention is guaranteed for 100 years under normal operating conditions.
  9. Temperature Considerations:

    • Ensure the operating temperature is within -40°C to 85°C.
    • Store the device within -65°C to 150°C to maintain reliability.
  10. Power Down:

    • When the device is not in use, set the CS pin high to put the device into standby mode, reducing power consumption.
