Instructions for Use:
Mounting and Handling:
- Handle the TLP187 with care to avoid mechanical damage.
- Ensure that the device is mounted on a suitable PCB with proper soldering techniques to ensure good electrical connections and thermal dissipation.
Electrical Connections:
- Connect the anode (A) and cathode (K) to the input side of the circuit.
- Connect the collector (C) and emitter (E) to the output side of the circuit.
- Ensure that the polarity is correct to avoid damage to the device.
Forward Current (IF):
- Do not exceed the maximum continuous forward current (IF) of 20 mA.
- For peak forward current (IFP), do not exceed 100 mA for more than 1 ms.
Reverse Voltage (VR):
- The device can withstand a reverse voltage (VR) up to 5 V. Exceeding this value may cause damage.
Isolation Voltage (VIORM):
- The isolation voltage between the input and output sides is 3.75 kV. Ensure that this voltage is not exceeded to prevent breakdown.
Output Collector-Emitter Voltage (VCEO):
- The maximum collector-emitter voltage (VCEO) is 30 V. Ensure that the output circuit does not exceed this voltage to avoid damage.
Output Collector Current (IC):
- The maximum collector current (IC) is 50 mA. Ensure that the load current does not exceed this value.
Turn-On and Turn-Off Times:
- The typical turn-on time (ton) is 1 μs and the typical turn-off time (toff) is 1 μs. These times can vary between 1 μs and 3 μs depending on the conditions.
Temperature Ranges:
- Store the device within the storage temperature range (-40°C to 110°C).
- Operate the device within the operating temperature range (-40°C to 100°C).
Thermal Management:
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation if the device is operated at high currents or temperatures to prevent overheating and potential failure.
Testing and Troubleshooting:
- Before integrating the TLP187 into a circuit, test it in a controlled environment to ensure it meets the specified parameters.
- If the device fails to operate correctly, check the connections, power supply, and load conditions.
