Instructions for Using the TL7726CP
Input Voltage (VIN):
- Ensure the input voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 18V.
- Do not exceed the maximum input voltage to avoid damaging the device.
Output Voltage (VOUT):
- The output voltage can be adjusted using external resistors.
- Use the formula ( V_ = 1.23 left(1 + fracright) ) to set the desired output voltage, where ( R_1 ) and ( R_2 ) are the resistors connected to the feedback pin.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The device can provide a continuous output current of up to 2.0A.
- For optimal performance, keep the output current around 1.5A.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is typically 2.5mA when there is no load and the input voltage is 5V.
- This value helps in determining the power consumption of the device under no-load conditions.
Dropout Voltage (VDROP):
- The dropout voltage is the minimum difference between the input and output voltages required to maintain regulation.
- At an output current of 1.5A, the typical dropout voltage is 1.0V.
Load Regulation:
- The load regulation is the change in output voltage when the load current changes from 1.5A to 0A.
- The typical load regulation is 0.2%.
Line Regulation:
- The line regulation is the change in output voltage when the input voltage changes from 4.5V to 18V.
- The typical line regulation is 0.1%.
Thermal Shutdown:
- The device will automatically shut down if the junction temperature exceeds 160°C to prevent damage.
- Ensure proper heat dissipation to keep the operating junction temperature within the safe range of -20°C to 125°C.
Operating Junction Temperature (TJ):
- The operating junction temperature should be kept within the range of -20°C to 125°C.
- Use appropriate heatsinks or cooling methods if necessary to maintain this temperature range.
PCB Layout Considerations:
- Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the device to minimize noise and improve stability.
- Use wide traces for the input and output connections to reduce resistance and inductance.
By following these instructions, you can ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the TL7726CP.
