Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the power supply (Vcc) between 4.5V and 16V to pin 16.
    • Ground (GND) is connected to pin 8.
  2. FM Band Selection:

    • Use external capacitors and inductors to tune the FM band.
    • Typically, a variable capacitor is used for tuning.
  3. AM Band Selection:

    • Use external components to select the AM band.
    • A ferrite rod antenna is often used for AM reception.
  4. Audio Output:

    • The audio output can be taken from pin 13.
    • Connect a speaker or headphones with an impedance of 8Ω for optimal performance.
  5. Antenna Connection:

    • For FM, connect a telescopic antenna or a wire antenna to the designated pin.
    • For AM, use a ferrite rod antenna connected to the appropriate pins.
  6. External Components:

    • Refer to the datasheet for specific values of external components such as capacitors, inductors, and resistors.
    • Ensure all components are rated for the operating voltage and current.
  7. PCB Layout:

    • Follow the recommended PCB layout guidelines to minimize interference and ensure optimal performance.
    • Keep the ground plane large and continuous to reduce noise.
  8. Testing:

    • After assembly, test the circuit using a known FM and AM signal source.
    • Adjust the tuning capacitors to achieve the desired frequency range.
  9. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the IC in a dry environment to prevent moisture damage.
    • Handle with care to avoid static discharge which can damage the IC.

For detailed specifications and application circuits, refer to the official datasheet provided by the manufacturer.
