Instructions for Use:

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the input voltage (VIN) to the power supply within the specified range (3.0V to 5.5V).
    • Ensure the input capacitor is placed close to the VIN pin to minimize noise.
  2. Output Configuration:

    • Set the output voltage using the external feedback resistor network. The output voltage can be adjusted between 0.8V and 3.6V.
    • Place the output capacitor close to the VOUT pin to ensure stable operation.
  3. Enable Pin:

    • The enable pin (EN) controls the on/off state of the converter. Apply a high signal (typically >1.2V) to enable the converter and a low signal (typically <0.8V) to disable it.
  4. Thermal Management:

    • Ensure adequate heat dissipation by providing a thermal pad or heatsink if operating at high current levels.
    • Monitor the junction temperature to avoid exceeding the maximum operating temperature of 125°C.
  5. Protection Features:

    • The device includes overcurrent protection and thermal shutdown to prevent damage under fault conditions.
    • If an overcurrent condition is detected, the converter will automatically shut down and restart after a delay.
  6. Soft Start:

    • The soft start feature gradually increases the output voltage to prevent inrush currents. The typical soft start time is 4ms.
  7. Layout Considerations:

    • Use short, wide traces for power and ground connections to minimize inductance and resistance.
    • Place bypass capacitors as close as possible to the IC to reduce noise and improve stability.
  8. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the device in a dry, static-free environment.
    • Handle with care to avoid damage to the pins and package.
