Instructions for Use

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the supply voltage (Vcc) to Pin 16.
    • Ground (GND) is connected to Pin 8.
  2. Oscillator Configuration:

    • Connect a resistor (Rt) between Pin 6 (RT/CT) and Vcc.
    • Connect a capacitor (Ct) between Pin 6 (RT/CT) and GND.
    • The frequency (f) can be calculated using the formula: ( f = frac{1.1}{Rt times Ct} ).
  3. Error Amplifier:

    • Connect the inverting input (Pin 1) to the feedback network.
    • Connect the non-inverting input (Pin 2) to the reference voltage (Vref) which is typically 2.5V.
  4. PWM Output:

    • The PWM outputs are available on Pins 11 (OUTA) and 14 (OUTB).
    • These pins can be used to drive external MOSFETs or other power switches.
  5. Dead Time Control:

    • Dead time can be adjusted by connecting a resistor (Rd) between Pin 7 (Dead Time) and GND.
  6. Soft-Start:

    • To enable soft-start, connect a capacitor (Css) between Pin 9 (Soft-Start) and GND.
  7. Shutdown:

    • To put the IC into shutdown mode, pull Pin 10 (Shutdown) low.
  8. Thermal Considerations:

    • Ensure adequate heat dissipation to prevent thermal shutdown. Use a heatsink if necessary.
  9. Protection:

    • The IC has built-in short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown features to protect against overcurrent and overheating conditions.
  10. Layout Considerations:

    • Keep the power supply traces short and wide to minimize inductance and voltage drops.
    • Use bypass capacitors (e.g., 0.1μF and 10μF) close to the Vcc and GND pins to filter out noise.
