Instructions for Use:
Power Supply Connection:
- Connect the input voltage (Vin) to the middle pin (Pin 2).
- Connect the output voltage (Vout) to the right pin (Pin 3).
- Ground (GND) should be connected to the left pin (Pin 1).
Capacitors:
- Place a 0.33 μF capacitor between the input and ground close to the regulator.
- Place a 0.1 μF capacitor between the output and ground close to the regulator.
Heat Dissipation:
- The 78L12 WS is designed to operate without a heatsink for typical applications. However, if the power dissipation exceeds 150 mW, consider using a heatsink or improving airflow.
Input Filtering:
- Ensure that the input voltage is clean and stable. Use appropriate filtering if the input source is noisy.
Output Stability:
- The output capacitors help stabilize the output voltage. Ensure they are of good quality and rated for the operating temperature range.
Transient Protection:
- Consider adding transient protection diodes to protect the regulator from voltage spikes.
Mounting:
