Instructions for Using TJA1021T/10

  1. Power Supply:

    • Connect the VCC pin to a power supply within the range of 3.0V to 5.5V.
    • Ensure the power supply is stable and has sufficient current capacity.
  2. Ground Connection:

    • Connect the GND pin to a common ground reference.
  3. CAN Bus Connections:

    • Connect the CANH and CANL pins to the CAN bus lines.
    • Ensure the CAN bus lines are terminated with a 120Ω resistor at both ends of the bus.
  4. Sleep Mode:

    • To enter sleep mode, set the STBY pin to a high state (VCC).
    • To exit sleep mode, set the STBY pin to a low state (GND).
  5. Data Transmission:

    • The TJA1021T/10 supports data rates up to 2 Mbit/s.
    • Ensure the data signals on the TXD and RXD pins are within the specified voltage levels.
  6. Overvoltage Protection:

    • The device is protected against overvoltages up to 40V.
    • However, avoid exposing the device to voltages above this limit to prevent damage.
  7. ESD Protection:

    • The device has an ESD rating of 4000V (Human Body Model).
    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge.
  8. Temperature Considerations:

    • The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 125°C.
    • Store the device in an environment with temperatures between -65°C and 150°C.
  9. Mounting and Handling:

    • Follow standard surface mount technology (SMT) procedures for mounting the device.
    • Use appropriate soldering techniques to ensure reliable connections.
  10. Testing and Validation:

    • After assembly, perform functional tests to ensure the device is operating correctly.
    • Verify the CAN bus communication by sending and receiving data packets.
